Capital Village Schools is a network of small schools that puts students first.
Every student is different: Every child brings with him or her a different set of interests, ambitions, circumstances, and needs. If given the proper support and environment, all students can grow and learn. However, many schools fail students by educating students as large groups, with little opportunity to meet the unique needs of students as individuals — and we believe they deserve better.
Capital Village Schools is a network of micro-schools born out of the urgent need to rethink the one-size-fits-all model of American education. As intentionally small communities focused on the whole child, each Capital Village School will create personalized learning spaces where all students, regardless of background or circumstance, are propelled toward greatness in college, career, and life.
Our first school, Capital Village Academy, will be a public charter school in Washington, DC, serving students in 5th - 8th grades. We are seeking approval to open in the Fall of 2020.
